“I’m Jake, a coach with a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy from the Institute for Psycho-Systems Analysis™ (IPSA) and a Professional Member of The International Renaissance Psychotherapy Association (IRPA)”

About me

With two years of professional training and over five years of personal development, my journey leading up to my coaching career began at 18 as a youth development worker in the USA working with children and teenagers between the ages of 7–17 at a recreational summer camp up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I then spent my early twenties in New Zealand working and hiking mountains (mostly hiking) and then eventually returned home to northern England.

There I began working as a support worker within the National Health Service, where I worked in various areas, including surgery, medicine, and emergency care.

I later ventured into pre-hospital medicine and earned an Associate Award in Paramedic Science, which included work experience and placements in a range of community and hospital settings and actively responding to emergency calls in the community under the supervision of clinical mentors.

What gets me up every morning is my calling to help others and, in the context of coaching, helping others achieve their goals and realize their full potential in the world. This spirit has guided me through my whole life both personally, within my own relationships, and professionally in varying contexts.

In 2020, a time of social lockdown and isolation, I got in contact with Steve and Pauline Richards, founders of Psycho-Systems Analysis™, where I underwent two years of professional training and obtained the Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Thereafter, I was supported through my own personal development, uncovering my personal myth and my calling, and I further studied and applied Psycho-Systems Analysis™ in my own life and with others.

I found a professional home at IRPA and a context where I could fulfil my own potential within the healing arts.

I’ve overcome numerous personal challenges and adversities and am fully dedicated to lifelong learning and personal development. I’ve witnessed so many others overcome their own challenges, often in the most desperate of times, showing me, firsthand, the power available for every individual to uncover their own creative, adaptive, and positive potential.

Outside of professional coaching, I spend my time still hiking (within the UK) and remain connected to the land and the natural world. I am a lifelong student of humanities and science and work on my own creative endeavors in creative writing and music.
